Atiku’s statement follows the release of kidnapped students from Kuriga in Kaduna State. He praised those involved in securing the students’ freedom and stressed the importance of reinforcing the Safe School Initiative.

Taking to X platform, Atiku emphasized the urgency of restructuring the security apparatus to effectively address the diverse challenges confronting Nigerians.

In his post, he expressed his relief at the liberation of the 287 abducted schoolchildren in Kaduna after enduring 16 days in captivity. He lauded the concerted efforts that led to their release.

While celebrating their reunion with families and friends, Atiku cautioned against underestimating the severity of the insecurity crisis, likening it to stage four cancer that demands proactive intervention.
