‘Why Nigerians don’t give Rema enough credit’ – Johnny Drille

Renowned musician, Johnny Drille, has expressed his belief that his fellow artist and record label mate, Rema, deserves greater recognition for his remarkable contributions to the Nigerian music industry and beyond.

The artist behind “Believe Me” pointed out a perceived bias in the way Nigerians perceive Rema, despite his impressive musical achievements at such a young age.

In a recent interview with Lagos-based radio station The Beat 99.9 FM, Johnny Drille shared his thoughts, saying, “Not to stir controversy, but if Rema were any other artist or a more established name in Nigeria, there would be a resounding chorus of applause, acknowledging his groundbreaking accomplishments.”

He went on to highlight Rema’s exceptional achievements, particularly his massive hit, “Calm Down,” which has not only conquered the African music scene but also the global music landscape, consistently maintaining a position in the Billboard Top 10 for nearly a year.
