“We will overcome all challenges to surpass $30 billion in revenue by 2025 – Aliko Dangote.”

Aliko Dangote, President of the Dangote Group, has announced that the company aims to overcome multiple obstacles to generate over $30 billion in revenue by the end of 2025.

In a statement released on Thursday by the Dangote Group, Dangote shared this ambition while speaking at the recently concluded African Renaissance Retreat in Kigali, Rwanda.

He emphasized the need for African business leaders to drive the continent’s transformation, highlighting the potential for growth despite Africa’s challenges. Dangote pointed to the continent’s youthful population and vast resources—accounting for about 30% of the world’s mineral reserves, including significant deposits of gold, cobalt, uranium, platinum, and diamonds—as opportunities for inclusive development.

Despite ongoing issues such as visa restrictions, inconsistent government policies, lack of skilled labor, insufficient infrastructure, foreign exchange instability, inflation, high capital costs, and various conflicts, Dangote revealed that the Dangote Group has successfully expanded from Nigeria into 14 African countries. Its operations now span multiple industries, including cement, fertilizers, sugar, oil refineries, petrochemicals, and agriculture.

“The good news is that despite these challenges, we have built a pan-African group that employs over 50,000 people and is on track to generate revenues exceeding $30 billion by the end of 2025,” Dangote said.

This announcement comes as the Dangote Refinery prepares to begin supplying Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) starting Sunday, following a $20 billion investment. Earlier in September, Dangote officially confirmed the refinery’s production of petrol, although the refinery has yet to disclose its pricing. Local petrol marketers have indicated their willingness to purchase from the refinery, provided the price is competitive.
