Victor Osimhen is reportedly at the forefront of Chelsea’s considerations as they finalize their three-man shortlist for the upcoming January transfer window.

Chelsea is reportedly prioritizing the acquisition of Victor Osimhen, the prolific Napoli striker who has expressed openness to joining the team. Osimhen played a key role in Napoli’s Serie A title win, scoring 31 goals across all competitions last season, and has maintained impressive form this campaign.

Mauricio Pochettino’s squad has identified a three-man shortlist to strengthen their forward line, with Osimhen being the preferred choice, as per the Evening Standard. This development follows persuasive efforts by former Chelsea midfielder and Super Eagles legend, John Obi Mikel, who convinced Osimhen to consider Chelsea for the upcoming season.

In the recent episode of Mikel’s podcast, The Obi One, featuring Osimhen as a guest, Mikel asserted that he would be the intermediary to facilitate Osimhen’s move to his former club. Mikel confidently stated that Osimhen was “100% coming to Chelsea,” discouraging the striker from considering offers from the Middle East.

Mikel emphasized that the next season was the opportune time for Osimhen to join Chelsea, citing the club’s need for a player of his caliber since the departure of Didier Drogba. According to Mikel, Osimhen possesses the stature, scoring ability, and big-game impact that aligns with Chelsea’s objectives, making him an ideal fit for the club.
