Nnanyereugo Best, a businessman who had been sought by authorities, allegedly for the murder of his girlfriend, Augusta Osedion, a student at Lead City University, has been apprehended in Sierra Leone. Following the alleged crime, he reportedly invested over $25,000 in acquiring a Sierra Leonean passport and assuming a new identity under the name Kanu Princeton Samuel.
Augusta Osedion’s family shared his photograph on social media platforms, hoping to aid in his capture. Fortunately, an individual in Sierra Leone recognized him from these images. They promptly contacted human rights lawyer Mr. Femi Falana, who in turn informed the Lagos police about Best’s whereabouts, leading to his being declared a wanted fugitive. Best was ultimately apprehended at a nightclub in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
It’s important to clarify that the $25,000 mentioned was not solely for obtaining the Sierra Leonean passport but rather the cost incurred in seeking a new life and changing his identity altogether.
