Trump Administration Sets Daily Quota of 1,800 Arrests for Illegal Immigrants

The Trump administration has implemented a new daily arrest quota for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), requiring the agency to detain at least 1,800 illegal immigrants per day. Each of ICE’s 25 field offices must now make a minimum of 75 arrests daily, according to multiple reports.

Since Trump’s return to office, ICE has already conducted over 4,500 arrests, focusing on major sanctuary cities such as New York, Denver, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Boston.

Officials Confirm the Target is a ‘Floor, Not a Ceiling’

White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller confirmed the quota in a CNN interview, stating:

“The numbers you cited are a floor, not a ceiling. The goal is to arrest at least that many, but hopefully many more.”

Reports from The Washington Post suggest that ICE is expected to average between 1,200 and 1,500 arrests daily, with efforts ramping up.

ICE Crackdowns and High-Profile Arrests

ICE officials claim the agency has a long list of criminal illegal immigrants, making it easier to meet the arrest targets.

On Tuesday, Acting Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem joined ICE, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agents in pre-dawn raids. One operation in New York City led to the arrest of Anderson Zambrano-Pacheco, an alleged ringleader of the Tren de Aragua gang, who was taken into custody near PS 11, the Highbridge School in The Bronx.

Trump’s Border Czar: ‘We’re Not Gonna Let Up’

Tom Homan, Trump’s Border Czar, participated in a Chicago raid over the weekend, emphasizing ICE’s focus on illegal migrants with criminal records who pose public safety risks. Speaking to Fox News, Homan stated:

“I think the president’s happy, but we’re going to make him a lot happier. We’re not gonna let up. We’re gonna put our foot on the gas and we’re gonna go.”

ICE has yet to release an official comment on the quotas, but the administration’s latest measures reflect its aggressive immigration enforcement strategy.
