A devastating Russian strike in the heart of Kherson, Ukraine, claimed the lives of seven civilians on Tuesday, as reported by the regional prosecutor’s office. The attack occurred around 9 AM (0600 GMT), allegedly involving cannon artillery near a local market and public transport stop.
Video footage released by the region’s governor reveals a scene of destruction, with debris and shattered glass scattered across the market area, while several bodies lay on the pavement. The victims included three women and four men, highlighting the indiscriminate nature of this tragic event.
Kherson city, situated on the western bank of the Dnipro River, remains a critical front line between Russian forces to the east and Ukrainian defenders to the west. Although Russian forces withdrew from the city in November 2022, they have maintained a relentless shelling campaign, endangering the lives of countless civilians.
