Tony Elumelu Calls for Global Support to Empower Young African Entrepreneurs 🇺🇬

Tony Elumelu, the Chairman of the Tony Elumelu Foundation, UBA Group Plc, and Heirs Holdings, has made a powerful call for global support to empower young African entrepreneurs, emphasizing their role in driving sustainable transformation across the continent.

Speaking at the prestigious Legacy Builders Palm Beach Conference in Florida, USA, Elumelu highlighted the urgent need to invest in African youths to unlock Africa’s full potential.

According to him, African youths are the backbone of the continent’s progress, a belief that led to the creation of the Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF)—a platform dedicated to empowering African entrepreneurs.

🌟 Impact of the Tony Elumelu Foundation

“Today, we have granted 2.5 million Africans access to training on TEFConnect, our online portal, and lifted over 2 million individuals out of poverty,” Elumelu stated.

He further revealed that over $100 million has been disbursed directly to more than 21,000 beneficiaries, leading to the creation of 1.5 million jobs and generating $4.2 billion in revenue across Africa.

Elumelu acknowledged that TEF cannot achieve this mission alone, stating, “We receive over 300,000+ applications annually, so we now partner with global organizations such as the EU, UN, Red Cross, and Ikea Foundation to expand our impact and amplify the good.”

📚 Breaking Barriers for Young African Entrepreneurs

The business mogul underscored that young African entrepreneurs are already making waves by creating jobs and driving economic transformation in their communities. However, to scale this impact, systemic barriers must be removed.

“Africa’s young entrepreneurs should not be paralyzed by challenges but propelled by opportunities. We need mentorship, knowledge-sharing, and networks that uplift and empower the next generation,” he emphasized.

Elumelu passionately declared, “Africa will not rise by chance—it will rise because of deliberate action from those who refuse to accept the status quo and choose to create the future we deserve.”

🌍 A Call to Action: Join the Mission to Transform Africa!

In his closing remarks, he invited global stakeholders to be part of this transformative journey: “I invite each of you to explore how you can contribute to our mission. Together, we can shape the future of Africa—one entrepreneur at a time!”
