Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has criticized Mr. Joseph Aloba, the father of the late Nigerian rapper, Ilerioluwa Olademeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, for his handling of his son’s death. In an open letter posted on her Instagram page, Dikeh expressed her concern that material possessions seemed to take precedence over the love for his late son.
She condemned Elder Aloba for hastily burying Mohbad within 24 hours of his passing, citing the undignified nature of the burial due to financial constraints despite receiving a substantial sum of 2 million Naira. Dikeh also disapproved of Elder Aloba seeking assistance from Nigerians for a DNA test on Mohbad’s son instead of consulting the deceased’s wife for the test.
Dikeh went on to allege that Mohbad’s father was now charging fees ranging from N10,000 to N15,000 for interviews on his late son’s death saga. In her open letter, she empathized with the challenges of poor conditions but questioned how material wealth could outweigh the love for one’s child.
Dikeh urged Elder Aloba to acknowledge the rights of Mohbad’s wife in the quest for global assistance and DNA verification. She criticized his social media presence driven by trivialities and fleeting fame, expressing relief that he is not a part of her family to spare them from witnessing his disregard for his son’s memory.
In conclusion, Dikeh expressed her deep concern for the pain caused by Elder Aloba’s actions and emphasized the importance of doing right by his son.
