In a surprising turn of events on Thursday, President Bola Tinubu issued an unexpected directive to withdraw the nomination of Engr Imam Kashim Imam.
Imam had previously been designated to serve as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA).
A statement released by Ajuri Ngelale, the Media Aide to the President, formally announced the immediate withdrawal of Imam’s nomination.
Ajuri clarified that this directive does not impact any other appointments made to the board and executive management team of FERMA.
It is worth noting that the Federal Government faced considerable public criticism for appointing Imam, a person believed to be just 24 years old, to the FERMA board.
The presidency has not provided specific reasons for its decision to rescind Imam’s nomination.
