Tinubu not my enemy, we disagree politically – Afenifere leader, Ayo Adebanjo

The leader of the Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere, Pa Ayo Adebanjo, has characterized President Bola Tinubu as more of a son than an adversary. Despite their political disagreements, Adebanjo expressed his admiration for Tinubu’s kindness and willingness to fulfill any request.

Addressing an event in Lagos on Tuesday, the Afenifere leader emphasized the amicable relationship he shares with Tinubu, highlighting the latter’s benevolence. Adebanjo acknowledged their divergence in opinions, particularly on national issues, urging everyone to prioritize the unity and progress of the country.

He stated, “Any individual should be concerned about the unity and progress of this country, beyond mere economic programs. Without a constitutional change, progress remains elusive. I implore anyone who loves this country, especially Bola Tinubu – I’m not his adversary; he is my son. Our only disparity lies in political disagreements.”

Adebanjo underscored Tinubu’s affectionate nature and the continuous support he has received, while stressing the critical importance of addressing the national question for the unity of Nigeria.
