Confirming the legitimacy of the memorandum, Onanuga, during an interview with Punch, urged Nigerians to await the results of the EFCC’s investigation into the alleged misappropriation of public funds within the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs. Onanuga stated:
“The President has instructed the EFCC to look into the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, and all these concerns are already under examination. I am confident that the EFCC has received the memo from the Office of the Chief of Staff, and they are actively addressing the findings. Let’s allow them to carry out their duties. There’s no need for redundant investigations or engaging in a media trial on a matter that is already under scrutiny. Nigerians should exercise patience. Once the EFCC completes its inquiry, they will submit their findings to the President, who will then take appropriate action based on the investigation’s results.”
