President Bola Tinubu has appointed the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, as the Board Chairman of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
Additionally, Senator Bashiru Ajibola, the APC National Secretary, has been appointed as the Board Chairman of the National Sugar Development Council (NSDC).
The appointments were announced in a statement released by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Friday.
The statement reads: “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed board chairpersons for 42 federal organizations, as well as a secretary to the board of the Civil Defence, Immigration, and Prisons Services.”
Notable appointments include:
- Sulaiman Argungu, former deputy governor of Kebbi State, as Chairman of Nigeria Bulk Electricity Trading Company.
- Magnus Abe, former Senator representing Rivers South-East, as Chairman of the National Agency for Great Green Wall.
- Dr. Kayode Isiak Opeifa appointed Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation.
- Raji Kazeem Kolawole, appointed Director-General of the National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI).
Tinubu emphasized that the board chairpersons’ roles are non-executive and do not involve interference with the management of the organizations.
The appointed chairpersons will oversee various organizations, ranging from medical centers, railways, and postal services to institutes promoting educational development and technology incubation.
