The Super Eagles managed a 2-2 draw against Saudi Arabia.

Nigeria and Saudi Arabia concluded their international friendly with a 2-2 draw on a Friday evening. This match marked the first of two fixtures for Jose Peseiro’s squad as they gear up for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations scheduled for the following year.

In the 60th minute, Nigeria found themselves trailing after Salman Al-Faraj netted a goal for the Asian nation. The three-time African champions managed to even the score when Abdulelah Al-Amri inadvertently scored an own goal. Shortly after, Kelechi Iheanacho secured the lead for Nigeria with a well-placed finish from just inside the box.

Despite Nigeria’s efforts, Saudi Arabia managed to snatch a late equalizer during the 100th minute of the game when Mohammaed Kanno expertly converted a free-kick.

Nigeria’s national team is set to take on Mozambique in their upcoming friendly match scheduled for next week.
