The conference’s theme, “Re-directing the Focus of Education Stakeholders Towards Modern Process of Producing Competent, Dedicated and Professional Teachers in Nigeria,” set the stage for discussions on educational innovation. Representing the executive director, Prof. Mohammed Yahaya from the University of Ibadan highlighted that since 2009, the NUC has been at the forefront of implementing various programs to integrate Open and Distance Learning (ODL) approaches, aligning with global best practices.
He emphasized that these initiatives have empowered university staff to leverage technology for enhancing student engagement. Maiyaki underscored, “Furthermore, the establishment of ODL Centers by universities has broadened access to education, promoting inclusivity.
