In a recent announcement, Mamman warned the public to avoid using the compromised phone number for any communications. He stated, “My phone line has been hacked. Please do not call this number and disregard any messages soliciting help until the issue is resolved. Thank you for your understanding,” as posted on X.com.
Additionally, the Ministry of Education confirmed the security breach. In a statement issued on Friday by the Director of Press and Public Relations, Boriowo Folasade, the ministry disclosed that unauthorized individuals are currently utilizing the compromised phone line.
The statement read, “The Office of the Honourable Minister of Education, Professor Tahir Mamman, would like to inform the public that the Minister’s WhatsApp number has been hacked and is now being misused by unauthorized individuals. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and urge everyone to ignore any requests received from this number until further notice. This matter has been reported to the appropriate authorities and is under investigation. We encourage all members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.”
