Governor Ahmed Aliyu swore in five new permanent secretaries into Sokoto State’s civil service, emphasizing the need for fresh ideas and better governance.
The appointees—Hadiza Sahabi Jaredi, Maryam Ahmad Barade, Muhammad Idris, Abubakar S/Fada Tambuwal, and Muhammad Bello Ibrahim—were chosen based on merit and their clean track records. The governor urged them to uphold ethical standards, avoid corruption, and ensure due process.
Aliyu highlighted his administration’s commitment to the welfare of civil servants, citing timely salary payments, bonuses, and the restoration of cash allocations to ministries.
He stressed that in return, workers should be more punctual, dedicated, and contribute to the administration’s “smart agenda.”
