Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, popularly known as Skales, recently shared that he contributed to many hit songs for his former label mate, Wizkid, during their time at Empire Mates Entertainment (EME).
In an interview on the ‘Curiosity Made Me Ask’ podcast, hosted by content creator Bae U Barbie, Skales disclosed that he co-wrote several tracks for Wizkid’s debut album, *Super Star*, including the bonus track “Wiz Party.”
However, Skales acknowledged that the collaboration was mutual, as Wizkid also penned songs for him, including the hit track “Mukulu.” He explained, “Back in EME, we worked as a team and wrote songs for each other. I wrote for Wizkid, and he wrote for me. He did ‘Mukulu,’ and I wrote ‘Wiz Party.’ It was all teamwork.”
Both Wizkid and Skales were among the first artists signed to EME by R&B artist and music executive Banky W in the early 2010s. The label helped launch their careers into the limelight.
Despite their success, they eventually parted ways with EME after several disagreements with Banky W. In a past interview with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Banky W revealed that Wizkid still owed the label three albums under the terms of his original contract.
