Maverick musician Seun Kuti has voiced concerns about the true sources of wealth among his fellow artists in the music industry.
In a recent Instagram Live session, Kuti expressed his doubts, questioning how some colleagues have amassed significant fortunes seemingly overnight. Despite two decades of touring, he is only now constructing his first home, while others with just a couple of hit songs flaunt luxury cars.
Kuti stated, “I’ve been on the road for over 20 years, and I’m just building my first house. Where’s all this music money coming from? A musician with only two songs already owns a Lamborghini and a G-Wagon. How is that possible?”
Rapper Shallipopi has emphasized the financial success he found after dropping a few hits, claiming there’s a wealth of opportunities in the industry.
Similarly, singer Portable has asserted that there’s more money to be made in music than in rituals, fraud, or even football.
