Roma manager Jose Mourinho has received a one-match suspension in Serie A for displaying a “provocative” gesture aimed at the Monza bench. The incident occurred during the second-half stoppage time of the match when Mourinho was shown a red card.
The incident transpired when Stephan El Shaarawy scored a late winning goal, and in response, the former Inter Milan coach made a ‘cry-baby’ gesture directed towards the opposing team’s bench.
As a consequence of this action, Serie A’s sports judge issued a verdict on Tuesday, decreeing that the 60-year-old Mourinho will be barred from the touchline for Roma’s upcoming fixture. This suspension means that he will be absent from the dugout during Roma’s match against his former team, Inter.
