Sanusi has emerged as the new President of the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) in Kogi State.

Mohammed Sanusi has been elected as the new President of the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) in Kogi State. He succeeds Tade Adeyemi, who retired from service and was subsequently appointed as the Senior Special Assistant to the Kogi State Governor on Civil Service Matters.

Sanusi emerged victorious over his close rival, Lasisi Aminu, in a bye-election held in Lokoja on Thursday.

During the Special Delegate Congress, Mohammed Sanusi secured 26 votes, surpassing his opponent Lasisi Aminu, who received five votes. Additionally, Adejoh Alih and Olajide Ronald Babalola were elected as Welfare Officer and Welfare Officer 1, respectively.

Gabriel Amari, the Kogi State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), extended congratulations to the outgoing President of NULGE for completing his tenure successfully. Meanwhile, Onuh Edoka, the Special Adviser to the Kogi State Governor on Labour Matters, urged the newly elected President to prioritize the welfare of the people and uphold ethical values.

In his valedictory address, the immediate past NULGE President in Kogi State, Tade Adeyemi, expressed gratitude to members for their support. He emphasized the importance of the new administration addressing ongoing litigation within the union for the betterment of its members and the organization as a whole.
