Rosalynn Carter, the wife of former President Jimmy Carter of the United States, has passed away at the age of 96.
The news of her demise was officially conveyed by the Carter Center, the non-profit organization established by the couple. In a statement released on Sunday at 2:10 pm, the organization announced that Rosalynn Carter, a dedicated advocate for mental health, caregiving, and women’s rights, breathed her last at her residence in Plains, Georgia, surrounded by her family.
The Carter Center expressed, “Former First Lady Rosalynn Carter, a fervent champion of mental health, caregiving, and women’s rights, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 19, at 2:10 p.m. at her home in Plains, Georgia, at the age of 96. She departed peacefully, with family by her side.”
