Renowned Kannywood actor Usman Baba Pategi, famously known as Samanja, has passed away. The well-known Hausa actor from Kaduna succumbed to a prolonged illness on Sunday morning. Prior to his acting career, Samanja served as a staff member at the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Kaduna national station, and was also a retired soldier.
Samanja is survived by two wives and 14 children. His funeral took place in Kaduna on Sunday, with the proceedings following Islamic rites.
