Prison Officer Confirms Bobrisky Was Kept in a Private Cell

Michael Anugwa, the Deputy Controller of Kirikiri Maximum Correctional Center in Lagos, has clarified that popular crossdresser Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, was kept in a separate cell during his time in prison. This comes after claims made by Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, who alleged that Bobrisky had received special treatment and was housed outside the prison facility.

Speaking before the House of Representatives Joint Committee on Financial Crimes and Reformatory Institutions, Anugwa firmly denied the allegations, explaining:

“Bobrisky was officially admitted to the facility on April 13, with a valid warrant and transfer order from Ikoyi Correctional facility,” he said.

Anugwa detailed that Bobrisky’s biometric data was captured the next day due to his late-night arrival. Initially placed in the Medium Correctional Center, Bobrisky was later moved to maximum security after 10 days, citing his refusal to eat prison food. He applied for and was granted approval for self-feeding, allowing two individuals, Ogunleye Abiola and Moji Ogunleye, to deliver his meals.

Due to Bobrisky’s physical features, including his breasts, Anugwa stated that placing him in the general cell was not appropriate:

“We decided to assign him a separate cell due to his unique physical characteristics,” Anugwa confirmed.

Throughout his stay, Bobrisky had a total of 39 visitors, the officer added, addressing concerns about preferential treatment.
