The Police Service Commission (PSC) has reported that the recruitment portal for the constable cadre of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) received a total of 547,774 applications since its opening on October 15, 2023. The portal is set to close on November 26, 2023, marking a six-week application period.

Out of the extensive pool of applicants, 358,900 successfully qualified for the next phase of the recruitment process, involving physical assessments, credential verification, medical examinations, and rigorous background checks.

A notable point mentioned by PSC spokesperson Ikechukwu Ani is that 84,606 applications were rejected due to overage, emphasizing the requirement that applicants must fall within the age range of 18 to 25.

Kaduna State maintained its lead as the state with the highest number of applicants, recording 40,272 submissions. In contrast, Anambra remained in the last position with 1,664 applicants.
