PDP assures its supporters of victory at the Supreme Court in the Atiku vs. Tinubu case

As the Supreme Court commences its proceedings regarding the Presidential Election Appeal that took place on February 25, 2023, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) expresses confidence in the judicial process. In a statement issued by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Debo Ologunagba, the PDP affirms its belief that the Supreme Court, guided by the rule of law and the substantial body of evidence presented, will deliver justice in this crucial matter.

The PDP maintains that the issues surrounding the February 2023 Presidential election, including alleged violations of rules and laws, blatant manipulations, and falsifications that have undermined the country’s electoral process, have placed democracy in a precarious state.

The party emphasizes that both Nigerians and the international community eagerly await the Supreme Court’s decision, hoping that it will uphold the law, including the explicit provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) in 1999, the Electoral Act of 2022, and the Guidelines and Regulations set forth by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to deliver justice of significant consequence in this case.

The PDP contends that the earnest expectation of Nigerians and democracy supporters worldwide is that the Supreme Court will use this case to reaffirm the vital principle that the judiciary is the ultimate refuge for the common man.

The party concludes by expressing optimism that the Supreme Court will, in line with the law and factual evidence, dispense substantial justice in this appeal, a decision eagerly anticipated by Nigerians.
