Ekiti Governor Signs Anti-Land Grabbing Law
Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has signed into law the Ekiti State Property Protection (Anti-Land Grabbing, Second Amendment) Law, 2024. He also signed the High Court Law (First Amendment, 2014) and the Ekiti State Legislative House (Powers and Privileges) Law, 2024.
At the signing ceremony, Governor Oyebanji emphasized the importance of the anti-land grabbing law in regulating land acquisition processes in the state. He stated that the law would prohibit forceful entry, illegal occupation of land, and fraudulent or violent conduct related to land properties.
The governor expressed his excitement about the law, stating that it would address the issue of land grabbing and promote development in Ekiti State. He praised the state House of Assembly, led by Speaker Adeoye Aribasoye, for their support and collaboration with the executive.
The governor also acknowledged the positive impact of the three laws on the state’s development and expressed his gratitude to the people of Ekiti State for their goodwill and support.

The signing ceremony was attended by the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Monisade Afuye; Deputy Speaker, Bolaji Olagbaju; Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Habibat Adubiaro; Head of Service, Dr. Folakemi Olomojobi; members of the state House of Assembly, and members of the state executive council.
