Eze Onyekpere, the Lead Director of the Centre for Social Justice, has characterized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s one-year administration as a failure.
Onyekpere made this assertion during an interview on Channels Television on Wednesday, coinciding with Tinubu’s one-year anniversary in office.
He criticized the implementation of fuel subsidy removal, naira harmonization, and other economic policies under Tinubu’s administration, describing them as poorly executed.
“It has been a challenging year, one we hope will not be repeated because it has been marked by failures,” he remarked.
Onyekpere emphasized that ordinary Nigerians are experiencing the impact of economic hardship, with headline and food inflation soaring by 33.69 percent and 40.53 percent, respectively.
He further suggested that the President should dismiss non-performing ministers if he genuinely intends to benefit the country.
Financial experts have highlighted fuel subsidy removal and naira harmonization as the most significant policies shaping Nigeria’s economy over the past 365 days.
