Sam Amadi, Director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thoughts, has asserted that former President Olusegun Obasanjo squandered his opportunity to bring about meaningful change in Nigeria. Amadi emphasized that Obasanjo had more chances than any other Nigerian leader but ultimately fell short in implementing necessary reforms.
His remarks were sparked by a conversation on X (formerly Twitter), where a user claimed that Obasanjo supported the illegal removal of former Senator Ladoja due to a dispute over Oyo State’s security funds and Obasanjo’s controversial third-term agenda. Amadi attributed Obasanjo’s failure to personal moral shortcomings, stating that they hindered his ability to drive the country toward progress.
