NSCIA Warns of Security Risks Posed by Oyedepo’s Airstrip

NSCIA Demands Revocation of Private Airstrip License Granted to Living Faith Church

The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) has called for the immediate revocation of a private airstrip license granted to Living Faith Church Worldwide, led by Bishop David Oyedepo. The Council expressed deep concern that such a license could potentially threaten national peace and security.

In a communiqué issued following its 10th Expanded General Purpose Committee (EGPC) meeting on December 1st, 2024, the NSCIA described the approval as “an aberration of the highest order.” The Council, chaired by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, emphasized the need for greater regulatory oversight to prevent the misuse of such licenses.

The communiqué urged relevant authorities to prioritize national security and unity over individual interests. It also called for continued dialogue and trust-building to address the challenges facing Nigeria.
