NOSL supports mental and physical well-being through a food distribution initiative in a community in Lagos.

Food stands as a fundamental necessity for human survival, and the pervasive issue of hunger significantly impacts communities, robbing individuals of their fundamental human dignity and hindering the pursuit of healthy, fulfilling lives. Therefore, addressing the challenge of ensuring food availability within communities becomes paramount for enhancing lives and fostering prosperity.

On December 21, 2023, Natural Oilfield Services Limited (NOSL) orchestrated the ‘The Joy of Giving’ initiative in Lagos, an endeavor aimed at supplying food provisions to the Shogun Iwaya Community in Yaba, Lagos. Inspired by the spirit of the Yuletide season, this food distribution initiative epitomizes the true essence of giving back to society and spreading joy throughout the holiday season.

Distinguished guests who attended the event included High Chief Peter Yusuf Ajaguabiade, the Clan Head of Shogun, Iwaye Community; Mr. Bamidele James, Chairman of Iwaye Community Development; Chief Mrs. Adeyemi Christiana, Women Leader of Shogun, Iwaye Community; Nurse Mrs. Agosu Olubukola from the Lagos State Ministry of Health; Mrs. Roseline Akogbetan, Secretary of Iwaye Community; and Mr. Idowu Segobo, Youth Chairman of Iwaye Community.

High Chief Peter Yusuf Ajaguabiade, the Clan Head of Shogun, Iwaye Community, remarked during the event, “Food is a fundamental human right, yet our communities lack access to sufficient food to meet their needs. Every individual deserves a life free from hunger, and no family should grapple with uncertainty about their next meal. The eradication of hunger is attainable, and NOSL has stepped forward to make a positive and enduring impact on our community.”

While hunger may manifest silently, our collective voice against it can resonate profoundly. It is time to expose the concealed facets of hunger, illuminate this crisis, and collaborate to ensure that no one experiences persistent hunger.

Mr. Bamidele James, Chairman of Iwaye Community Development, expressed, “Hunger is an issue that affects us all. Feeding the hungry is a responsibility for each individual. Providing nourishing food enhances well-being and empowers individuals to confront life’s challenges. We are delighted that NOSL is committed to creating conditions that will foster community well-being, alleviate hunger, and address scarcity by delivering essential food items.”

Through their efforts in serving the hungry, NOSL envisions a scenario where everyone has access to wholesome food. The core of giving back to communities is deeply embedded in NOSL’s mission to alleviate hunger and combat malnutrition in vulnerable communities. The company aims to expand its outreach, ensuring that every plate is filled with hope and nourishment.
