Southwest NNPP Leader, Olopoeyan, Resigns from the Party
Alhaji Adebisi Olopoeyan, a prominent figure in Oyo State politics and a key leader of the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) in the Southwest, has announced his resignation from the party.
Olopoeyan, who is considered a significant financial backer of the Nigerian People’s Party in Oyo State, cited personal reasons for his departure. He expressed gratitude to the party’s leadership, particularly the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Boniface Aniebonam, for their support and accommodation during his tenure.
While Olopoeyan acknowledged the challenges involved in his decision, he emphasized that it was a necessary step. He assured that he will maintain his relationship with Aniebonam and continue to participate in political activities outside the NNPP.
Olopoeyan’s resignation marks a significant loss for the NNPP in the Southwest, as he was instrumental in establishing the party as a major opposition force in Oyo State. His departure is likely to have implications for the party’s future political strategies in the region.
