NNPP Launches Sale of Candidacy Forms for Ondo Council Polls: Empowering Voices for Change

NNPP Opens Doors for Aspiring Candidates in Ondo Council Elections

The Ondo State chapter of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has officially begun selling Expression of Interest and Nomination forms. This sale supports the local government elections scheduled for January 18, 2025.

Sales will occur from September 30 to October 18, 2024. Interested candidates should seize this chance to secure their candidacy for various local government positions.

To promote inclusivity, the NNPP offers:

  • A 50% discount on nomination forms for women, persons living with disabilities (PWDs), and youths aged 30 and below.
  • A flat rate for the Expression of Interest form.

According to Oluwafemi Olaleye, the State Publicity Secretary, the NNPP aims to empower diverse candidates. This approach ensures representation for all segments of society while emphasizing development, transparency, and accountability in governance.

Olaleye stated, “The upcoming elections will usher in a new era of governance. NNPP is committed to grassroots democracy and broader participation in the electoral process.”

Furthermore, he encouraged aspiring candidates to embrace this opportunity for grassroots governance. “We are excited to open the portal for our candidates. This is a pivotal moment for those who wish to serve their communities and make a meaningful impact in local governance,” he added.

“This initiative reflects our dedication to inclusivity and the belief that everyone has a role in governance. We understand that financial barriers can deter qualified individuals from running for office. Thus, by offering these rebates, we empower women, persons living with disabilities, and youths under 30 to actively participate in our democratic process.”

Finally, Olaleye concluded, “A truly representative government must include voices from all walks of life. We encourage all aspiring candidates to take this step towards leadership. Your community needs you, and this is your chance to make a difference!”
