The new system, which launched in Canada on November 5, 2024, is now expanding to Europe, starting with the United Kingdom (UK) and Ireland from February 7, 2025.

“The contactless passport application, available on Google Play Store (NIS Mobile), allows Nigerians to renew their passports remotely without the need for biometric enrollment,” said NIS Comptroller General Kemi Nandap in a statement.
