Chelsea midfielder, Cole Palmer, issued a heartfelt apology to his manager, Mauricio Pochettino, following an unfortunate incident during a recent match. The incident unfolded last Saturday, right after Chelsea’s match against Arsenal ended in a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge.
Palmer, who recently made a significant £42.5 million move from Manchester City to Chelsea during the summer transfer window, played a pivotal role in the match by opening the scoring with a well-placed penalty kick. However, the game took a twist when Mykhailo Mudryk scored, leveling the score at 2-2 as Arsenal made a strong comeback.
Amid the tension of Arsenal’s 84th-minute equalizer, Palmer, in a moment of frustration, inadvertently hurled a bottle in the direction of the dugout, unintentionally striking manager Pochettino. In response to this regrettable incident, Palmer has since extended a sincere apology to his manager.
“When they scored their second goal I was getting a drink,” Palmer told Chelsea’s website.
“I went to throw the bottle away, as you do, but didn’t look. I just saw it loop dead slow and hit the gaffer.
“I said sorry to him and apologised properly after the game. Hopefully he won’t drop me for that!”
