Stella Maris, the spouse of the ailing actor, John Okafor, widely known as Mr Ibu, has leveled accusations against Jasmine, the actor’s adopted daughter, asserting that she has taken charge of the funds intended for his medical treatment.
In October, Mr Ibu reached out to the public for assistance via the internet, disclosing his struggle with an undisclosed ailment. Despite undergoing seven surgeries, he underwent the amputation of one of his legs last week.
In a post on her Instagram page on Monday, Stella Maris claimed that Jasmine has been covertly managing the bank account designated for donations. Addressing Jasmine’s statement that she received a donation of N1 million for personal use, Stella Maris clarified that the amount was deposited into her account in her husband’s presence to cover some household expenses.
“I received the N1 million donation, which was deposited into my account in the presence of my husband, to settle certain bills on the home front. It perplexes me why Jasmine, a relative stranger, is involving herself in our family matters.
“I do not have access to the primary Access Bank account where donations are made. Jasmine appears to be clandestinely overseeing that account while fabricating falsehoods against me to maintain absolute control. The intricate details of how she maneuvered and assumed control of the account are tales for another occasion,” she expressed.
