Marriage isn’t exclusive to the wealthy or educated, according to Harrysong.

Renowned Nigerian artist and instrumentalist, Harrison Tare Okiri, popularly known as Harrysong, has expressed the view that the institution of marriage is not exclusive to the wise, wealthy, or educated individuals.

Harrysong made this statement in the midst of the marital challenges faced by Isreal DMW, Davido’s logistics manager, and his wife, Shiela Courage.

Sharing his perspective on Instagram, the singer highlighted that neither wealth, education, nor wisdom can guarantee the sustainability of a marriage. Stressing the intricate nature of marital relationships, he asserted that essential qualities for a thriving marriage include humility, selflessness, patience, and the willingness to serve one’s partner.

According to Harrysong, “Marriage is not for the wise, not for the educated nor for the rich. Not for the righteous and the over-sabis. Because none of these can keep you married. If you can’t be humble, selfless, tolerant, patient, accommodate and serve humanity. That your partner is humanity, you cannot humbly serve him or her? Don’t get married (Generation of pride, selfishness and over sabi).”
