Manchester City and Atlético Madrid have finalized a deal for Julián Álvarez worth up to £82 million (€95 million).
Atlético will pay £64 million upfront (€75 million), with the remaining amount to be covered by add-ons. This transaction marks a record sale for City and represents a substantial profit compared to the £14 million they invested in the Argentine forward from River Plate in January 2022.
Álvarez has made 103 appearances for City, scoring 36 goals during his two and a half years at the Etihad Stadium.
In that time, he secured two Premier League titles, an FA Cup, the Champions League, the Super Cup, and the Club World Cup—all in 2023. Additionally, he contributed to Argentina’s triumph in the 2022 World Cup and the Copa América earlier this year.
