Legislators convene to approve the 2024 budget today.

Subject to any unforeseen changes, the House of Representatives is anticipated to reconvene at 9 am today for the purpose of passing the 2024 Appropriation bill. Similarly, Senators are expected to gather to approve the Appropriation bill.

Responding to an inquiry from Tribune Online, Hon. Akin Rotimi, Chairman of the House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, confirmed that the proposed plenary is scheduled for 9 am.

He stated, “Plenary is scheduled for 9 am Saturday. Announcements will remain valid unless there is conflicting information.”

It’s worth noting that the Senate, through a statement from the Clerk of the Senate, Barrister Chinedu Francis Akubueze, announced the rescheduling of the initially planned plenary on Friday, December 29th, 2023. The new date is Saturday, December 30th, 2023, at 10 am.

The memo conveyed regrets for any inconvenience caused by this schedule adjustment to the Distinguished Senators.
