Kogi’s CUSTECH Sends 117 Pioneer Graduates to Serve Nigeria in NYSC

The Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), owned by the Kogi State Government, has mobilised 117 pioneer graduates for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program. This marks a significant milestone for the institution, which has experienced remarkable growth since its inception four years ago.

In a statement, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abdulrahman Salawu, celebrated the historic achievement, saying:
“This milestone highlights the university’s commitment to producing globally competent graduates ready to serve the nation. These 117 graduates will represent CUSTECH across various NYSC camps in the country.”

The Vice Chancellor also credited the institution’s progress to the support of Kogi State’s leadership, extending appreciation to Governor Usman Ododo and former Governor Yahaya Bello.

CUSTECH has expanded significantly over the years, increasing its academic programs from 11 to 56, covering diverse fields such as Medicine, Nursing, Agriculture, Engineering, Law, and Computing. This expansion aims to address critical needs in Nigeria’s economy and prepare students for leadership roles.

Salawu further emphasized the university’s achievements:
“The availability of state-of-the-art facilities and a conducive learning environment has enabled 14 of the graduates to secure First Class honours. These graduates reflect the institution’s dedication to quality education.”

The Vice Chancellor urged the graduates to be exemplary ambassadors of the university during their service year, expressing confidence in their ability to uphold CUSTECH’s values and make meaningful contributions to the nation.
