The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) has apprehended the Headmaster of Gaidar Makada Special Primary School, located in Kumbotso Local Government Area, for allegedly selling the school’s assets.
Kabir Abba Kabir, the commission’s spokesperson, announced in a statement on Saturday, August 31, 2024, that the arrest came after the discovery of a disturbing scheme involving the unauthorized sale of essential school property.
“An investigation revealed that critical items, including metal fixtures, benches, and furniture, had mysteriously vanished from the school,” the statement said.
“Suspicion centered on the headmaster, whose suspicious activities had been previously flagged during meetings with the SBMC and PTA Chairmen.
“On August 31, 2024, the thefts were officially reported, leading to swift action by the PCACC.
“The commission is now focused on recovering the stolen assets and ensuring that such acts of corruption do not undermine the integrity of our educational institutions.”
