The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State is resolute in its commitment to defend its votes in the upcoming local government elections set for October 24, 2024. 🚀
In a recent telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the state Chairman, Abdullahi Abbas, emphasized the party’s dedication to ensuring a fair electoral process. He announced that the APC would soon hold primary elections to select candidates across the 44 Local Government Areas (LGAs).
“We are doing everything possible to ensure that our enthusiastic supporters participate in the elections. APC is mobilizing its base to protect votes and promote a peaceful process,” Abbas stated.
He urged the state electoral commission to create a conducive environment for all political parties to engage in free, fair, and credible elections.
“We demand equal opportunities from the commission for all contestants without any bias. A transparent electoral process is essential, along with a peaceful atmosphere for the elections,” he stressed.
To encourage voter participation, the party has launched a house-to-house sensitization campaign aimed at rallying supporters for the October 24 elections across all 44 LGAs.
Abbas further appealed to party supporters to reject violence at all stages of the electoral process. He reaffirmed that the APC would not tolerate any intimidation during the elections.
“Kano State remains a stronghold for the APC, and we aim to maintain our leadership. We urge the electoral commission to uphold the integrity of the electoral process, which is vital for Nigeria’s democratic development,” he concluded.
