Iran’s Supreme Leader Promises Retaliation Against Israel and the US Amid Rising Tensions

Iran’s Retaliation Threat

On Saturday, Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, vowed to retaliate against both Israel and its ally, the United States. His warning comes in response to recent attacks that have heightened tensions in the region. A pro-Iran coalition in Iraq, known as the Islamic Resistance, claimed responsibility for a drone strike on the Israeli resort city of Eilat.

Khamenei stated, “The enemies, both the USA and the Zionist regime, should know that they will definitely receive a tooth-breaking response.” He indicated that Iran’s response would target not only the Islamic Republic but also its allies.

Military Escalation

The Israeli military reported intercepting three drones over the Red Sea. Earlier, they had claimed that seven drones launched from multiple fronts. Israel’s ongoing military campaign against Hezbollah and confrontations with Hamas have resulted in significant casualties and destruction.

As Israel continues its airstrikes in Gaza, the UN describes the conditions there as “apocalyptic.” Meanwhile, Hezbollah has intensified its rocket attacks on Israeli targets, further escalating regional instability. In response, the Pentagon deployed ballistic missile defense destroyers and B-52 bombers to the Middle East, signaling a warning to Iran.

Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza

The humanitarian situation remains dire in Gaza. Israeli strikes have reportedly resulted in massive casualties, with the health ministry in Gaza stating that over 43,000 people have died since the conflict escalated on October 7, 2023. The situation underscores the urgent need for humanitarian assistance as the violence continues.
