Popular Nollywood actress Ini Edo recently surprised her fans by announcing that she had found love again and was preparing to walk down the aisle with the man of her dreams. The 42-year-old actress, who had kept her love life under wraps, revealed that she had been in a relationship for six months and was engaged three months prior to their upcoming wedding.
She broke the news on Instagram, tagging the post “My fairytale wedding,” and encouraged her fans not to give up hope on finding love. In her heartfelt message, Ini Edo wrote: “My fairytale wedding is almost here. To anyone out there who has given up on their happily ever after, love will find you, and when it does, ready or not, it’ll be the best thing that ever happened to you.”
Reflecting on the relationship, she added, “That bright Sunday morning six months ago, while on vacation, we crossed paths, and our lives never remained the same. Exactly three months later, you asked me to be with you forever. How did I get so lucky?”
Ini Edo had previously been married to American-based businessman Philip Ehiagwina, but the union, which she regretted entering due to family pressure, lasted from 2008 to 2014. In a past interview with media personality Toke Makinwa, the actress shared that she values love, respect, and kindness in a relationship, stating, “I can’t be in a toxic relationship… I cannot be with a man that I don’t respect.”
However, just as fans flooded her with congratulatory messages, the announcement took an unexpected turn. What appeared to be a joyful revelation was, in fact, a cleverly planned publicity stunt for a new four-part limited series on Africa Magic.
