In 2023, Nigerian artist Michael Adebayo Olayinka, widely recognized as Ruger, disclosed that he faced setbacks attributed to the presence of “negative influences” in his life.

He clarified that the presence of the “wrong individuals” in his surroundings had a profound impact on him, leading to a loss of his true self. Expressing a decisive change, he revealed that he left those “wrong people” behind in 2023. Emphasizing his intentions for 2024, he declared his determination to be a blend of a passionate, assertive, self-centered, and affectionate individual.

“2023, I slacked. I had the wrong people around me and I let them affect my energy. It got to a point that I didn’t feel like ruger anymore. Anyways, I’ve left each and everyone of them in 2023. In 2024, I am a mad, dangerous, selfish and loving man.”
