Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has extended his congratulations to Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State on securing his re-election in the recent governorship poll held on Saturday.
Ganduje conveyed his felicitations through a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Edwin Olofu, in Abuja. He also expressed his delight at the overwhelming support shown by the electorate in Kogi, leading to the election of Ahmed Ododo as the governor of the state.
In his remarks, Ganduje highlighted that the electoral successes of Uzodimma and Ododo underscored the widespread acceptance of the APC among Nigerians. He emphasized that the victories in both states reflected the citizens’ appreciation for the effective governance provided by Governor Uzodinma in Imo and the outgoing Governor Yahaya Bello in Kogi.
Ganduje stated, “What pleases me about the APC’s triumph in Kogi and Imo states is the recognition from Nigerians for good governance and their desire for continuity in peace and sustainable development in their states.”
Assuring continued commitment to delivering good governance, Ganduje asserted, “As a progressive party, we will always fulfill our promises to provide good governance. The people of Imo and Kogi States can be confident that Uzodimma will uphold his developmental initiatives, while Ododo will build upon the commendable legacies of Governor Bello.”
While congratulating Uzodinma and Ododo on their significant victories, Ganduje called on members of opposition parties to accept their defeat graciously. He commended them as true democrats, acknowledging that a robust opposition is essential for a thriving democracy.
Ganduje urged opposition members to collaborate with Uzodimma and the incoming governor, Ahmed Ododo, in advancing the progress of their respective states. Addressing their efforts in the electoral contest, he encouraged them with the belief that there would always be future opportunities to gauge their acceptability among the electorate.
