The newly-appointed Postmaster General of the Federation and Chief Executive of the Nigerian Postal Service, Tola Odeyemi, has expressed her commitment to transforming the agency into a global commerce and logistics hub, catering to the needs of Nigerians across the country. Odeyemi made these remarks in a statement issued on Monday following her assumption of office at the NIPOST headquarters in Abuja.
She pledged to build upon the accomplishments of her predecessors and emphasized the importance of maintaining the organization’s core values and mission, while adapting to change and displaying unwavering commitment. Odeyemi acknowledged the hard work and vision of those who came before her, emphasizing that history would look favorably upon their contributions.
“In taking on this role, I aim to further enhance the admirable work of my predecessors. My goal is not only to solidify NIPOST’s position as one of the world’s leading Postal Operators but also to embark on an ambitious journey to establish NIPOST as a global commerce and logistics hub. This will be achieved by providing postal services that meet the diverse needs of Nigerians, regardless of their location,” Odeyemi declared.
It is worth noting that there were earlier reports of protests by some dissatisfied workers in response to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s appointment of Odeyemi as the CEO of NIPOST. However, the situation has since calmed down, and Odeyemi has assumed her role as the new Postmaster General.
