Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has pledged to uphold the enduring accomplishments of his predecessor, the late Oluwarotimi Akeredolu. This commitment was expressed during a candlelight procession organized by the Ondo State chapter of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) in honor of the late Akeredolu at the Government House in Akure on Friday night.
Governor Aiyedatiwa lauded Akeredolu as a fearless legal luminary and a devoted leader. He emphasized Akeredolu’s unwavering dedication to justice and service to the people, which earned him the title of “Senior Advocate of the Masses.”
Commending the NBA members for their heartfelt gesture, Governor Aiyedatiwa assured them of his determination to see through the completion of all ongoing projects initiated by the late Akeredolu. He expressed gratitude for the genuine love demonstrated by the candlelight procession, acknowledging its significance.
Governor Aiyedatiwa humbly requested continuous prayers, recognizing the need for collective strength to cope with the loss. He urged everyone to pray for the fortitude to bear the loss and move forward.
Earlier in the ceremony, Mr. Bayo Aina, the Chairman of the NBA Akure Branch, emphasized the association’s steadfast commitment to supporting and perpetuating the impactful work of Akeredolu, even in his absence. Aina pledged to ensure that the late Akeredolu’s legacy continued to shine as a guiding light in the governance and legal landscape of the state.
