“I longed for Death after an unsuccessful cosmetic Surgery’ Transgender Jay Boogie.

Nigerian transgender figure, Daniel Anthony Nsikan, popularly known as Jay Boogie, revealed that he experienced a desire for death following complications arising from a poorly executed cosmetic surgery. His health deteriorated to the extent that he required daily dialysis to facilitate urine elimination.

During a recent conversation with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Jay Boogie shared that he became a target for online bullying and even received death threats after friends photographed him in his hospital bed, falsely claiming he needed public support for a kidney transplant.

Expressing his frustration, he stated, “People whom I considered friends entered the hospital, took pictures of me, and sent them to bloggers. The online bullying became overwhelming, with death threats directed at me. People would come to my DM and ask, ‘Aren’t you dead yet?’ So, I decided to step back from social media for a while.”

Jay Boogie emphasized that he did not personally share his hospital pictures on social media, attributing it to his friends. Describing himself as a private individual who prefers a low-key lifestyle, he said, “I love living a low-key life because nobody cares about you; you should care about yourself.”

Reflecting on the online criticism he faced, particularly regarding his choice of surgery, Jay Boogie expressed disbelief, stating, “People were bullying me, saying, ‘How could a man undergo such a procedure?’ Can you even fathom that mentality? Do you even perceive me as a man? This is something I wanted for myself, and I am certain that if I were their sibling, they wouldn’t say they don’t feel the pain I’m going through.”

He recounted the challenging health journey, detailing his routine of daily dialysis to manage swollen legs and high urine levels. Jay Boogie, at one point, contemplated his struggles and prayed, “God, I am just tired. I just want to go [die]. What am I even doing? Who sent me to undergo this procedure?”
