I Have Doubts About His Wife,” Late Mohabd’s Father Reportedly Expresses to Coroner’s Court

Joseph Aloba, the father of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad, expressed his lack of trust in his son’s wife, Wunmi, during a testimony at a coroner’s court session in Lagos on Wednesday, October 25.

A report by The Nation states that Mr. Aloba, while providing his testimony during the inquest into his son’s death, told Coroner Magistrate Adedayo Shotobi that he and his son had shared a residence for 18 years. However, when Mohbad came of age, he chose to live with Naira Marley, the Marlian record label boss, while pursuing his own music career. Aloba admitted that he was unaware of the specific location of his late son’s residence with Naira Marley.

He further revealed that the ownership of his deceased son’s properties rested with his mother-in-law, and that his son had frequently discussed the possessions held by his wife and her family. Aloba also claimed that Mohbad’s wife had occasionally added sleeping pills to his food, and there were allegations of her being involved with another signee.

he said

“I shared 18 years together with my son, and he had no record of any terminal disease. I only took him to a chemist when he was 16 for treatment of rashes. I don’t trust his wife. My son told me she always put sleeping pills in his noodles and went to another room to sleep with another signee in the same house. Mobhad made efforts to reconcile me with his mother,”

He also told the coroner that Mohbad bought a car for him after reconciling with his mother.
